No one is an island, rather a series of interconnected masses that together shape a whole. This paraphrase is perhaps wrong, for some, but for me, within my practice, it is crucial, because it is the image of how collaboration expands my own work.
I began collaborating while studying, but to be honest any endeavor that one undertakes will be a collaboration, although in a greater or lesser degree. The collaboration presented here are both of shorter and longer duration, some lasts only an exhibition or project, other have lasted for 10 years and more, some collaborations are just between me and one other, and some are collaborations with up to eight fellow artists. It is important though, before you travel onwards, that I confess that all my collaborations are based in friendship, in friendships that at the same time is my professional network, my colleagues and my support system as I continue to experiment, work and develop. We cannot live alone, and for me, I cannot make works alone, in some way, in some manner, I am always in collaboration with friends and the world around me.
